Our blog is about cooking and eating in a little kitchen in the big city.

We cook because we like it!

This blog is founded by Hayley and Kate, two friends who met competitively and naturally at an interview day in 2011, and subsequently ended up living together in the East-ish of London. 

Simply put, we both like to cook, bake, eat and write. That's it. We enjoy food and like to share our own thoughts about it. We both look to our families for cooking inspiration and love to try out new and different ingredients.

Hayley's from West Yorkshire, but her parents are from Hong Kong and grew up eating a lot of rice, veg, fish AND meat at any one time. Fact: Hayley never had a traditional British roast dinner until she was 18. 

Kate's family originate from Italy and Scotland, so food is a very important part of culture. Fact: Kate isn't a big fan of hot drinks.









The proudest moment of The Little Kitch's blog life was when Jamie Oliver replied to a tweet after cooking one of his weekday recipes of salmon and potatoes #claimtofame
